Support Groups & Counseling
New participants will be connected with support groups and counseling during orientation. Existing participants interested in joining a group or counseling may contact info@cancersupportla.org
Support Groups
A support group can become a lifeline to information, support and encouragement through good times and bad. Support groups at CSCLA are facilitated by licensed mental health professionals in a caring and uplifting environment.
Counseling
Short-term therapy is available for individuals, couples, or families to address cancer-related concerns. Private therapy sessions can promote a sense of control through problem-solving and empowerment, decrease feelings of isolation, help navigate the numerous transitions that are faced by people impacted by a diagnosis of cancer, and improve a person’s quality of life.
Diagnosis & Population Specific Groups
Join a Networking Group to gain valuable support from others, reduce distress associated with cancer diagnosis, share treatment and side-effect information, learn ways to improve quality of life, and enhance communication with family, friends, and medical team.

*HEART: Healing Equitably (through) Action, Resilience, & Teamwork represents a conscious change in our culture to reorient ourselves and our services towards under-resourced populations in Los Angeles so we can learn how to best serve patients and families in these communities. CSCLA has been working on outreach to these communities for many years, but we recognize that there is still a lot of work to be done; the HEART initiative is our strategy to be more purposeful in our outreach and collaborations.
